Worker Kunlun – FPS numbers

We have received a first sample of the new Worker Kunlun and inmediately put it to the test!

The Worker Kunlun is a high power bolt-action springer that is compatible with Harrier and Seagull barrels. Stock the Kunlun comes with a 1.4 x 250mm and 1.6 x 270mm spring and a 550 mm barrel. To make a better comparison and see which setup proves to be the best we have tested a couple of different barrel lengths with the 2 included springs. Each setup is tested with at least 20 shots over the chronograph to give you the best performance indication possible.

From each setup we report the highest, lowest and average, as well as the standard deviation. The standard deviation is the most important metric as it shows the consitency between shots, which is important for accuracy. A lower standard deviation means it’s more consistent between shots, so the chance of you hitting a target is higher. Please keep in mind that this overview is meant as an indication. Dart quality, blaster seals, lubrication, climate and other factors have an affect on performance.

Chronograph used: Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph.

Darts used: Worker HE darts – 1.0 gram

Spring 1.4 x 250mm 1.4 x 250mm 1.4 x 250mm
Barrel 550mm 450mm 370mm
Highest 229 225 220
Lowest 180 194 198
Average 206 210,9 208,2
St.dev 15,5 9,8 5,6

As you can see the Kunlun seems to be the most consistent with the 370mm barrel as the standard deviation is the lowest with this setup. This indicates that the stock 550mm barrel is too long for the strenght of the spring.

Spring 1.6 x 270mm 1.6 x 270mm 1.6 x 270mm
Barrel 550mm 450mm 370mm
Highest 309 298 286
Lowest 286 283 268
Average 298 292,5 275,9
St.dev 6,5 4,4 5,6

With the stronger spring the standard deviation drops a lot in comparison to the 1,4 spring. With a slightly shorter barrel (450mm) the standard deviation drops a bit but you do reduce the fps a little bit. shortening the barrel even further doesn’t seem effective as this raises the standard deviation again while lowering the fps.
