Look carefully at the instructions before starting to assemble the blaster.

Some things to keep in mind with assembly:

X-Shot is coming with a new blaster line that is challenging the NERF Rival line. The X-Shot Chaos blasters shoot foam balls that are compatible with NERF Rival rounds at a velocity of 100 FPS/30MPS. The new Chaos line is starting with two blasters and ammo refill packs.

X-Shot Chaos Meteor RXB-0060

The X-Shot Chaos Meteor is a small blaster that looks a lot like the Kronos. Balls are loaded in from the bottom through a unique loading mechanism. To load the blaster you slide down the follower after which you can push in the balls. After loading you push the release button and you’re ready to go!

Priming the blaster is done with the grip on top of the blaster. The blaster holds 6 rounds but you get 12 rounds with the blaster. The blaster comes with a sticker set which lets you customize the blaster to your taste.

Available for € 17,95

X-Shot Chaos Orbit RXB-0140

The X-Shot Chaos Orbit is a bigger pump-action blaster that looks like the Atlas. Balls are loaded in the back of the blaster with a smiliar mechanism as the Meteor.

Below you will find assembly instructions for the Worker Caliburn Kit.
Look carefully at the instructions before starting to assemble the blaster.

Some things to keep in mind with assembly:

What did Worker change on the Caliburn?

Recently worker “updated” their Caliburn design.
Because they had causes of the Milancoupler breaking they decided to fuse the Milancoupler with the upper magwell.
While this makes the design stronger it completely removes the take-down funtionality and makes the use of take-down pins useless.
At this point it is not clear if Worker is going to revert back to the Milancoupler in the future.
When printed with the right settings and right material the Milancoupler is strong enough. For a stronger version Captain Slug made metal inserts.

Captain Slug, inventor and designer of the original Caliburn made a document highlighting the differences between the original and the Worker version. Check it here.

The Caliburn kit is now available in our ship. Click here to check it out!

The metal internals are released!

Announced in a previous post the metal internals are now released!
As they teased before: Worker released their Metal (aluminium) internals kit for the Worker Caliburn!
The high quality CNC-machined parts have a really nice surface finish and look fantastic in a Caliburn.

The metal internals set is available in our shop! Click here to check it out!

We are proud to tell you that we are sponsoring and will be present at Foam Fest 2019, the UK’s first Nerf convention.

Organised by Monkeytron Collective and Foam Dart Thunder, this event is the first of it’s kind in Europe. The Convention is going to be at the DW Stadium on Saturday the 9th of March. The convention will last from 10:00 until 14:00. There are a lot of different things to do: from meeting the people, competitions, target ranges and a raffle with some amazing prices. Entrance is £3 at the door and free for children under 8 years old.
All proceeds from the event are being donated to Wigan Youth Zone.

As a sponsor we will be at Foam Fest with a booth. You can meet us there, grab a sticker, patch or keychain. We will also have some blasters and parts for sale.

But there is more! After the convention the FDT Stadium is taking place, where you can play Nerf in a cool location. Tickets for this event are available separately from the Foam Dart Thunder website. There will be 3 sessions: the first starting at 13:00.

You thought that’s all? Well there is more!

Friday March 8, the day before Foam Fest is Quasar Nerf. A CQB Nerf war in a laser tag arena. This event is taking place in Warrington.

Sunday March 10 there is a high FPS limit Nerf war in Blackpool: Impact no2 The Revenge.

Worker just announced another new product: The Worker Hurricane. The Hurricane is a small flywheel powered revolver with removable rotating cylinders/magazines.
Below a breakdown of all the info we have.

Want to watch a video about the blaster working first? Click here to watch it on YouTube!

And check out the video from Luke Goodman about the Worker Hurricane!

The design is looking really similar to a design originally posted a few years ago. Watch this video: Hanaya Sh Compact Nerf blaster

The Worker Hurricane Blaster

The Hurricane is a flywheel revolver that works with a removable cylinder that holds 6 darts.
The Worker Hurricane is semi-auto with a 2-stage trigger. Pulling the trigger halfway revs the flywheels and pulling it further pushes the darts.
On the back is an on-off switch to turn the blaster on and off.

The blaster uses 130-size motors and smaller sized flywheels.
The complete blaster and cylinders are injection molded in the quality we know from Worker.
The Worker Hurricane comes completely assembled, ready for use. (for Europe this is not certain due to customs issues)

Removable Rotating Cylinder Magazines

The removable Rotating Cylinder Magazine holds 6 darts.
These magazines are available separately and come in two colors: Blue and White.
The magazines have a rotation mechanism built-in. Loading darts is done by rotating the cylinder with the knob on the back and pushing the darts in from the front.

Flywheels

Out of the Box the Worker Hurricane blaster comes with standard small flywheels. They are smaller than standard size flywheels for Nerf. There are also upgrade flywheels available separately. The diameter for these flywheels is 27 mm and they are similar in design to the well known slanted flywheels from Worker.

another upgrade that is available is the barrel. This allow you to use barrel attachments with the blaster

Batteries + Performance

The Worker Hurricane can be used with different kind of batteries for different kinds of performance.
The blaster comes with a battery tray for AA sizes batteries that can be used with Lithium batteries.
Worker also offers a LiPo battery that fits int he stock.

Here are the numbers claimed by worker using Nerf Elite darts:

2x Lithium AA (14500) size battery + stock flywheels:
82-91 FPS

LiPo Battery + stock flywheels :
102-105 FPS

2x Lithium AA (14500) size battery + upgrade flywheels:
95-98 FPS

LiPo Battery + upgrade flywheels:
108-115 FPS

Edit: Metal parts now available in our shop!

More news about the Worker Caliburn designed by Captain Slug!
Worker is working on a metal internals set for the Caliburn!
After discussing about availability of spare Caliburn parts I was told they’re working on metal internals.

The internal parts will be CNC machined from Aluminium.
We don’t know much yet about these parts yet: but they will most likely be anodized.
The picture shows the design of the parts. In the picture we see:

The only other thing we can tell you: “It will be very cheap” – according to Worker.

The Metal Internals set for the Caliburn is expected to be ready middle or end of january.
We will be offering it in the shop soon after that.

Edit: Worker made some small changes: and the kit is now available in our shop! Read more about it here: Worker Caliburn Changes.

Worker just introduced the Worker Caliburn: a licensed version of the famous Caliburn from Captain Slug. The blaster is still 3D-printed and is launched under the F10555 brand.
We’ve gathered some info to give you all there is to know in one place. Therefor we’ve talked to Capatain Slug and Worker to get all the correct info.

And yes: we are adding this to the shop too! We expect to have it available in februari.

What is Worker exactly offering?

Worker is marketing the Caliburn under their F10555 brand for 3D-printed items.
The Caliburn will be printed in PLA, and at first it will be only available in a blue and white color layout. More may follow but this is uncertain.
Worker is offering the blaster as a complete parts kit. That means you’re not able to buy parts from them separately. Sellers can request replacement parts in case something breaks, but they will not be available for retail. Of course you can still always get a replacement printed by someone else.
The Worker Caliburn kit is a complete kit to build the Caliburn. You only need to get a magazine and some darts, and start assembling!
The blaster is compatible with both short and normal length darts.

Check out the demonstration video on YouTube

Is  the Worker Caliburn compatible with other Caliburn Parts?

That brings us to the next thing: the Worker Caliburn is fully compatible with all accessoires that are available for the Caliburn.
Worker modified the Caliburn to convert to metric, but overall the dimensions stay the same. They assured it’s fully compatible with all available accessoires.
There is a small difference in the details: Worker is using carbon fiber tubing for the spacers where Captain Slug is using nylon tubing.
The spring that is in the blaster is a locally produced spring but should be similar to a 788 spring

Caliburn licensing agreement

Does Worker have permission to sell this? Yes! Steven Lawver (Captain Slug) formally provided Worker with rights to produce, sell and distribute Caliburn Foam Blaster kits, assembled blasters and related accessories. He gets a royalty for everything that is sold.

This licensing agreement is a great option to get the Caliburn to a lot more users, while Captain Slug still is receiving credit for his designs.
The current Worker Caliburn is a basic blaster and because the design is open source there is a great opportunity to let people customize their blasters and let them make it their own.

Goal of the build

In the beginning I was making a cosplay prop. After a few tries I took the Stryfe as my base blaster. After the build evolved it became a useable war blaster for our nerf wars in the Netherlands
The Stryfe is used both as a cosplay prop and war primary blaster.

The modder

My name is Pim, 29 years old and just started nerf modding a year ago after an attempt to make a cosplay prop.  This is my first self made blaster and attempt to solder. I’ve learnt through the process of this blaster and destroyed a couple of motor sets too reach this result.

Cosmetics

The base is a basic Stryfe, with the full Worker Kriss Vector body kit with the threaded orange supressor on the front. The stock is a Worker AK Shoulder Stock. On top is a worker picatinny rail with a Chinese scope that has a small red dot at the top. The scopes are purely for cosmetic purposes. At the back of the rail I have a Worker sling point. The trigger is an aluminium trigger and I have an extended Worker mag release.
A friend of mine printed the extended battery tray and the bobololo style rev trigger in PLA.

The blaster is painted in a copper color with spray paints. A basecoat of multiple layers of black and a soft layer of bronze on top. I’ve used a towel to ‘drybrush’ and create a wasted and used look. The  silver details are done with miniature hobby paint.

Internals

Internally it’s a beast in my opinion. It runs an 3s Graphene Panther LiPo 1.Ah. The flywheel cage is a 3D-printed high crush OFP gen 2 cage with 41.5mm spacing. Wheels are Worker high crush  wheels. As motors I ended up with OOD Krakens, which I can strongly recommend. For easy soldering I used the Kelly Industries motor boards with an XT60 connector. The switch is a FoamBlast Tenzuo 21A switch.

Performance

With this setup I’m really impressed and satisfied with the performance. The best dart choice for this blaster are the accufakes and waffle heads. The averages for these darts are:

Accufakes: 163 Fps

Waffle: 155 fps

Both hit lows 140s and high at 170+
